What is Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba Oil, also referred as “Nature’s Liquid Gold” has garnered a loyal following for its numerous benefits for skin and hair.

It is extracted from the seeds of Jojoba Plant, scientifically known as Simmondsia Chinensis. While it is often referred to as an “OIL” but technically it is a “WAXY ESTER” that has the similar molecular structure and composition to sebum that our skin produces naturally for moisturization.

Comedogenic Rating of Jojoba Oil

Comedogenic Rating range between 0 to 5, with 1 being Non-Comedogenic (unlikely to clog pores) and 5 being highly comedogenic (likely to clog pores)

Jojoba Oil is one of the most versatile and skin friendly oils that closely mimics our skin’s natural sebum. When it comes to comedogenic rating, Jojoba Oil scores between 0 to 1, which means it is considered non-comedogenic and is unlikely to clog pores. This is the reason, it is suitable for individuals with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

It is extracted from fine quality Jojoba Seeds by cold pressing method. A Kilograms of Jojoba Seeds when pressed gives about 380 grams of oil.

Jojoba Oil Benefits for Skin

1)    Natural Makeup Remover- Jojoba Oil has a high affinity for makeup products, including those that are waterproof and long-lasting. It can effectively dissolve and break down makeup, making it easier to wipe off. Add a few drops of Jojoba Oil with Rose Hydrosol on a cotton ball and use it gently to remove your makeup.

2)    Anti-Aging– Jojoba Oil has antioxidants, particularly Vitamin E, which helps protect the skin from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can cause premature aging, including wrinkles, fine line and skin damage. Antioxidants help neutralize these harmful molecules.

3)    Balances Sebum Production -Jojoba Oil’s natural composition closely resembles the natural sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in our skin. After application of Jojoba Oil, it sends a signal to your sebaceous glands, indicating that the skin is adequately moisturized and does not need additional oil production. This is how it regulates oil production in the skin, reduces oiliness and prevents dryness.

4)    Deep Moisturizing: It provides intense hydration to skin, making it ideal for dry and dehydrated skin. It locks in moisture and prevents skin from drying out.

iii) Eliminates Dandruff– Jojoba Oil has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties that creates a barrier on the scalp and that barrier prevents forming the dandruff flakes. Use it at least twice a week for visible results.

iv) Repair Split Ends- Apply a few drops of Jojoba Oil to split ends help mend damaged hair, improve the overall appearance and texture of hair.
