Story behind our Pahadi Rosemary

Discovering the Story of Pahadi Rosemary: A Story of Sustainability, Community, and Pure Authenticity

After seeing so many videos on Instagram, I was actually very curious to know more about this amazing herb called “Rosemary”. When I researched Rosemary, I realized how amazing this herb is and I wanted to share it with you all. So, we launched Rosemary in 2021. At that time we were taking it from a farmer based in Uttarakhand but because of some personal reasons he moved to the city and left farming. So, we have to discontinue Rosemary from Vriksha Veda because quality is always our top priority and we never compromise with that by providing any substandard product.

In 2022, I visited a village in Uttarakhand with my brother in search of Damask Rose (for our rose hydrosol) and Pahadi Turmeric but I didn’t find any of them. But, by God’s grace we found “Rosemary” locally grown in the garden of a farmer.

We requested him to grow it in his farms with a promise to take all Rosemary that he will grow and make it a part of Vriksha Veda. Slowly and steadily we started working on it and in February 2023 I again visited those farms with my husband and we launched our “Pahadi Rosemary”.
Now we are working with 3 farmer’s families of that village to fulfil the demand of Rosemary. Whenever we visit their farms they always treat us like their family members.

Soon we are planning to launch our Rosemary Hydrosol but currently our farmers won’t have distillation set up and we are working on it. Once it will be ready, we will bring one more magical product for you. I don’t know why I am so obsessed with the Pahari region and Pahari things but they always hold a special place in my heart. I am deeply intertwined with their culture, tradition and the purity they provide. I always believed that nature held secrets and after visiting Uttarakhand I found one such treasure is the “Pahadi Rosemary”.

Our Rosemary leaves traces its roots to the remote region renowned for its rich biodiversity. With its optimal climate and soil conditions, mountain soil became the nurturing ground for this variant of Rosemary.

Nowadays, demand for rosemary is increasing beyond the region’s borders and once a demand of certain ingredients increases it always leads to exploitation. But locals know how to balance with nature. Realizing the importance of maintaining the purity and authenticity of the herb, local farmers took the initiative to promote the cultivation of Pahadi Rosemary with sustainable practices. We can proudly say that our Pahadi Rosemary is nurtured in the hands of Pahadi people with great efforts and we value their efforts. We always ensure to do a fair trade with our farmers by giving them the value that they actually deserve. Their contribution to Vriksha Veda is beyond words and even they don’t know what they are doing for us. I am really very thankful for them for giving us such purity and authenticity.

Not only this, we got multiple feedbacks for this wonder herb and I’m soon planning to write a blog on its usage.
